Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz

Dr. Akyildiz received for the second time “the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Award” to visit his Alma Mater, University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany, for a research stay during 2022-2023 fiscal year on March 18, 2022.

Dr. Akyildiz gave a keynote speech entitled “Wireless Communication Challenges for Extended (Augmented and Virtual) Reality”, at the IEEE International Conference on Wireless Communications Signal Processing and Networking (WISPNET), Chennai, India, March 24-26, 2022. http://www.wispnet2022.org/ [SLIDES]

Prof. Akyildiz is teaching a graduate class “Internet of  Things” at the University of 
Iceland in Spring 2022 semester.

Dr. Akyildiz is proud to be the initiator/inventor of these ideas. There are three ongoing patents on this technology. Hope these ideas will be commercially realized someday. [PHOTO]

Dr. Akyildiz has a welcome message for the ACM WUWNET conference and a tribute speech about his late friend Prof. MARIO GERLA, UCLA who received the pioneering award in December 2021.

Prof. Akyildiz gave a distinguished talk on  “6G and Beyond: The Future of Wireless Communications”,  at the Politecnica de Tirana, Albania, Dec. 9, 2021.

Dr. Akyildiz received the  HCR (Highly Cited Researcher) status from Clarivate for 2021. This is the 8th consecutive time Dr. Akyildiz reached this status. [PHOTO] [PHOTO]
